Scotland under-19s to play double-header against Japan High Schools
Scotland under-19s development squad will play two games against Japan National Schools Team in Edinburgh next month. The first match will be played at Inverleith on Sunday 20 March, with the teams facing each other again seven days later at Meggetland. A Scotland under-19 development squad has been invited to a training session on Sunday 6 March at Dollar Academy to prepare for the games, under the guidance of head coach Don Caskie and assistant Calum Forrester.The Japan U19s National Schools Team will also play midweek fixtures against a Scottish Rugby Conference Select, involving players from clubs and schools. Scotland under-19 head coach Don Caskie said: “We’re looking forward to getting our development squad together for the first time next month. “We’ll then look to announce a 26-man squad for our games against Japan, which we believe will be extremely competitive fixtures. “Next month’s training camp at Dollar Academy is an opportunity for the players to put their hands up for selection and we’re looking forward to working with the extended group.”Scotland under-19s Development Squad fixtures against Japan:Sunday 20 March, kick-off 1pm – Inverleith, Edinburgh (free entry)Sunday 27 March, kick-off 1pm – Meggetland, Edinburgh (free entry)Scottish Rugby Conference Select midweek fixtures to be confirmed
