Scotland Update
Edinburgh Rugby back-row forward David Denton (pictured) has recovered from injury and will train with the Scotland squad at Murrayfield today as they step up preparations for Saturday’s RBS 6 Nations Championship opener against England. Denton was a late withdrawal from his club’s Heineken Cup victory over London Irish eight days ago after he suffered mild hamstring discomfort but he has been given the all clear to resume full training. Meanwhile, centre Joe Ansbro (London Irish) and prop Alasdair Dickinson (Sale Sharks) are returning to their clubs and will play no part in this weekend’s Calcutta Cup encounter. Scotland lead physiotherapist Paul McGinley said: “Joe came into our camp in St Andrews last week affected by a back injury which will need a longer period of rehabilitation. This will be undertaken at his club and he will be re-assessed following the England game. “Alasdair was unable to train with the squad today as he is still recovering from the shoulder injury he sustained in Sale’s Amlin Challenge Cup home match against Brive. “We are returning him to continue his recovery with his club and we will reassess his situation after the England game.” Tickets are sold out for Saturday’s match ensuring a capacity Murrayfield attendance of 67,144 and are selling fast for Scotland’s other home match in this season’s championship – against France on Sunday 26 February (kick-off 3pm) with more than 62,500 sold, meaning fewer than 5,000 remain on sale. They cost from£17.50 for students and children and£35 for adults and are available on our website www.scottishrugby.org, via the 24 hour credit card hotline on 0844 335 3933 or in person from the Scottish Rugby Ticket Centre at Murrayfield Stadium.
