The first is against Italy at Stadio Luigi Zaffanella in Viadana on Friday 25 July, before travelling to Cork to play Ireland the following weekend at Virgin Media Park (Saturday 2 August).
Scotland Women Head Coach Bryan Easson: “These matches will be a vital part of our preparations ahead of the Rugby World Cup. Playing two quality sides – who both challenged us during the Guinness Women’s Six Nations this year – away from home gives us the kind of tough, competitive environment we want to expose the squad to. It’s a great opportunity to test our systems under pressure whilst still in prep-mode for the Rugby World Cup. Every minute we spend together in this pre-season phase is a step forward, and these Test matches will be key in sharpening our focus and ensuring we’re in the best shape possible for the main event.”

Both teams were looking for a place in the final qualifying tournament for the 2021 Rugby World Cup. Trailing by five points as the game entered its last minute, Chloe Rollie then scored the try that drew level, and a nerveless conversion by Sarah Law won the game for Scotland. Bryan Easson’s side progressed to the RWC for the first time since 2010.
