SCRUMS
The Scottish Rugby Management System, known as SCRUMS, was launched in 2018 to record all player, club official, club volunteer and staff registrations. The system was then expanded to include coaches and match officials.
All active players at a rugby club, school, college or university should be registered in SCRUMS. Youth players should be registered from the age of 8 upwards (P4) as this is when they begin playing ‘Mini Rugby’ (when contact is introduced). Scottish Rugby also encourages clubs to register younger ‘Micro’ players, aged 5-7.
Young players under the age of 14 must be registered by a parent or guardian. From the age of 14 upwards, young players can be registered by a parent or guardian, or they can register themselves.
All users can access SCRUMS to manage their own contact data and link with their clubs and schools making SCRUMS an important source of contact information supporting greater connections.
SCRUMS is also used to manage Scottish Rugby Competitions and Training & Education courses on offer throughout the year. Having a SCRUMS account also provides access to Gainline, Scottish Rugby’s online learning platform.
