Following this weekend’s opening Test defeat against South Africa, head coach Gary Parker has rung the changes in the Scotland Women selection for the second encounter with the southern hemisphere opposition on Saturday (12 June) at Lasswade, kicking off at 1pm. The fixtures are part of the Scots’ preparations for the 2010 Rugby World Cup in London this August. Following this second Test, a Scotland travelling squad of 26 will then be named for the World Cup before the side takes on Ireland in a non-cap encounter on Sunday 18 July (also at Lasswade) as final preparation for the World Cup. Entry to both games is free. Scotland head coach, Gary Parker, said: Every one of us was bitterly disappointed with the way we played on Saturday. We changed the whole agenda of our weekend after that and did a two-hour session on Sunday including contact work. We know we have to get better in every part of our game. With more than one eye on the World Cup, we’re looking at different combinations and different players for this game which is, effectively, our last official internationally competitive fixture before the tournament. Lynne Reid (49 caps) will captain the team which will be led from kick-off, on the pitch, by vice captain Lucy Millard.
