Sus Cup Hits Murrayfield

Scotland’s top university sides will come together on Wednesday (28 March) to compete at the Scottish Universities Sport (SUS) Cup Finals day at Murrayfield Stadium. The opening fixture of the day is a Glasgow derby in the men’s Bowl final with Glasgow University 2nd XV taking on Glasgow Caledonian University 1st XV at 11am.Scotland’s top university sides will come together on Wednesday (28 March) to compete at the Scottish Universities Sport (SUS) Cup Finals day at Murrayfield Stadium. The opening fixture of the day is a Glasgow derby in the men’s Bowl final with Glasgow University 2nd XV taking on Glasgow Caledonian University 1st XV at 11am. Following the Bowl final, Napier University 1st XV play Dundee University 3rd XV in the final of the Shield competition. Napier secured their place in the final by beating Stirling University 2nd XV 29-14 whilst Dundee held off the challenge from St Andrews University 3rd XV having already played Stirling University 2nd XV and Edinburgh Agricultural College. The SUS Cup Finals day will also feature the culmination of the women’s Cup tournament as Edinburgh University take on Dundee University. The whole day reaches its climax when Dundee University 1st XV play either Glasgow University 1st XV or St Andrews University 2nd XV, depending on the outcome of the second semi-final which takes place tonight at Glasgow University’s ground at Garscube (kick-off 6:30pm). The Dundee outfit reached the final after Edinburgh Agricultural College withdrew due to a clash with the Easter holiday period. The presentations of the trophies will take place in the Murrayfield Wanderers club house following the men’s Cup final, approximately 4:30pm. SUS Cup Finals day fixtures: Men’s Bowl Final – kick-off 11am Glasgow University 2nd XV v Glasgow Caledonian University 1st XV Men’s Shield Final – kick-off 12:45pm Napier University 1st XV v Dundee University 3rd XV Women’s Cup Final – kick-off 2pm Edinburgh University v Dundee University Men’s Cup Final – kick-off 2:30pm Dundee University 1st XV v Glasgow University 1st XV or St Andrews University 2nd XV
