26/07/19BT MURRAYFIELD – EDINBURGHTartan Touch Session.

Tartan Touch

Summer rugby starts here – Tartan Touch is back!

Scottish Rugby’s fun, fast-paced and inclusive summer rugby programme returns from May to July, and now it’s your turn to get involved.

Whether you’re brand new to rugby, returning after time away, or just looking for something active and social to do this summer with family and friends – Tartan Touch is for everyone.

What is Tartan Touch?

Tartan Touch is a simple, social and welcoming non-contact version of rugby designed for all ages, all abilities and all levels of experience.

It’s rugby made easy: fast to pick up, fun to play, and brilliant for staying active with friends, family or teammates.

Across Scotland, local clubs will be hosting weekly Tartan Touch sessions that focus on:

  • Fun and friendship
  • Building confidence and staying active
  • Playing together in a relaxed, welcoming environment
  • Getting muddy, laughing lots and being part of your rugby community

No experience needed, no special kit. Just turn up & play and enjoy summer rugby.

What are the rules?

AIM: Touch the ball down over opponent’s goal line. To do this, keep possession by avoiding being touched.

POSSESSION LOST IF: WHEN TOUCHED:
Touched 6 times Offload within 2 steps or 2 seconds – No offside from the offload
Ball leaves the pitch Place ball on ground – Offside line created
Ball passed forward, dropped forward, or kicked forward Must be passed away by touched player or a teammate
Foul play by team in possession
