Ten Scots earn core Team GB selection for upcoming SVNS campaign
Three women and seven men have been named in Team GB core squads for the 2023/24 HSBC SVNS season, as the international competition plots a new calendar.
Launching in December, 12 Men’s and Women’s teams will compete over the course of eight legs in a revamped format, with a Grand Final weekend in Madrid at the end of May next year determining final placings.
Scotland is represented in Team GB’s Women’s core group by Lisa Thomson, Rhona Lloyd and Shona Campbell, all of whom are on hybrid contracts to allow them, if selected, the chance to keep playing for Scotland Women.
The seven core men, who have all represented Scotland on previous circuits, selected for Team GB are: Robbie Fergusson, Jamie Farndale, Ross McCann, Max McFarland, Femi Sofolarin, Jordan Edmunds and Kaleem Barreto.
The 2034/24 HSBC SVNS season gets underway in Dubai on 2-3 December, before events in Cape Town, Perth, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Singapore and then Madrid on 31 May- 2 June 2024.
