Scottish Rugby is saddened to learn of the death of a former president of the Scottish Schools Rugby Union, Tommy Robertson. He was 76.He served as president of the SSRU between 1995 and 1997, encompassing a tour of South Africa, in a party which included two future Scotland captains, Chris Paterson and Jason White and a number of other players who went on to enjoy international honours. A life member of GHA, Tommy was head of physical education at Eastwood High School and served as youth development officer for Clarkston RFC between 1991 and 1996, a ground-breaking role at that time.He died on Sunday 3 January and his funeral will take place tomorrow (Tuesday 12 January) at Linn Crematorium, Lainshaw Drive, Glasgow at 10am.Scottish Rugby extends its sincere condolences to all Tommy Robertson’s family and friends.
