White Targets Bank Of Scotland Corporate August Tests For Comeback

Jason White, who captained Scotland to victories over England, France and Italy last season, today helped to launch Bank of Scotland Corporate’s continued sponsorship of Scottish Rugby for this year’s August Tests. The Tests are part of Scotland’s Summer of Rugby. Jason White, who captained Scotland to victories over England, France and Italy last season, today helped to launch Bank of Scotland Corporate’s continued sponsorship of Scottish Rugby for this years August Tests. The Tests are part of Scotlands Summer of Rugby. White also confirmed that he is targeting the two important Murrayfield Tests to mark his comeback from injury. The two summer time matches, against Ireland and South Africa, replace the annual Bank of Scotland Corporate Autumn internationals in a Rugby World Cup year and will enable Scotland to have vital match action before the World Cup kicks-off in September. They will give supporters the chance to send-off the Scotland team before they take part in the Rugby World Cup – the world’s third biggest sporting event after the Olympics and the football equivalent. White made a special appearance at Murrayfield today for the Bank of Scotland Corporate launch, as Scottish Rugby announced the ticket prices for the two games. The Bank of Scotland Corporate August Tests are against Ireland on Saturday 11 August (kick-off 2.30pm) and versus South Africa on Saturday 25 August (kick-off 5pm). Tickets cost£10,£20 and£30 for adults; and£5,£10 and£15 for children, students and OAPs. White said: Well done to the Union for setting family-friendly ticket prices. The matches are already ringed in my calendar as I’m targeting the Ireland game on the 11th of August for my comeback from injury. I’ve been working hard on my rehabilitation since I damaged my knee against Romania last autumn and had to undergo surgery. That recovery has included spending three weeks with a specialist in the United States and I’m right on track just now to be fighting fit and ready to play in the game against Ireland. This is the third year Bank of Scotland Corporate has sponsored these important internationals and their continued support is welcomed by Scottish Rugby’s Chief Executive, Gordon McKie. He said: It’s most encouraging to have the support of such a major banking institution for our sport. Bank of Scotland Corporate are tremendous sponsors and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them once more. Ian Robertson, managing director, Bank of Scotland Corporate, said: Following the success of our sponsorship over the last two years, we are very much looking forward to continuing our support of Scottish rugby through the August Tests. We anticipate two exceptionally exciting games, particularly in view of Jason White’s expected return to full fitness, and we hope that the team can deliver two victories in the run up to the Rugby World Cup. In line with White and many of Scotland’s other frontline internationalists’ extensive fitness and conditioning programme over the summer, today’s announcement was made in the Scotland squad’s gym at Murrayfield. Today’s announcement means ticket prices have been frozen from last November’s Bank of Scotland Corporate Autumn Test series. The tickets can be bought from next Monday, 7 May, through the Scottish Rugby website, www.scottishrugby.org; via our credit card hotline number 0131 346 5100 and in person from the Scottish Rugby Ticket Centre, Roseburn Street, Edinburgh. However, Debenture holders and adult members of the Scotland Rugby Supporters Club (SRSC) can buy tickets from today, Monday 30 April. To join the SRSC, visit www.tunnelpass.org. Please note the hotline and ticket centre are staffed from 9am-5pm, Monday to Friday. A booking fee applies for all credit/debit card transactions. Scotland’s matches in the Rugby World Cup are against Portugal in St Etienne on 9 September; v Romania at Murrayfield on 18 September; v New Zealand at Murrayfield on 23 September; and v Italy in St. Etienne on 29 September.
