Women Gear Up For The Cup!
The Scotland Women’s squad is gearing up to head off to the Women’s Rugby World Cup which kicks off in Surrey next week. Sunday sees their final training session at Murrayfield prior to heading south of the border on Monday.Earlier this week, three members of the squad – Louise Dalgliesh, Sarah-Louise Walker and Celia Hawthorn – joined youngsters at the Scotland summer camp for an afternoon of fun and games. The girls, along with their Scotland male counterparts Ben Cairns and Alex Grove, helped out with coaching sessions and signed autographs for the young supporters.This Saturday (14 August) Scotland Women’s captain Lynne Reid and head coach, Gary Parker, join John Beattie and Rhona McLeod on BBC Radio Scotland’s Sports Weekly programme (9.05 to 10am) to look ahead to the tournament.Keep up to date with tournament news, team announcements and match reports, over the next three weeks, on the Scottish Rugby web site. The Women’s Rugby World Cup in Surrey runs from 16 August to 5 September.
