An introduction to the World Rugby U20 Trophy
The World Rugby U20 Trophy is part of the international U20 competition structure, with the winners gaining passage to the following year’s World Rugby U20 Championship.
The U20 Trophy sees eight teams compete across two pools, with finishing positions correlating to a final match day, on which the two top teams will compete for that prized U20 Championship berth for 2025.
Scotland, who lost out at the semi-final stage to Uruguay last year, are seeking a return to the Championship and as hosts, have high hopes of a restoration to the U20 Championship, a competition they have finished as high as fifth in previously (2017).
Of the eight countries vying for World Rugby U20 Trophy success, Japan, Samoa, Uruguay, USA and Scotland have all competed in the top tier Championship before, with Netherlands, Hong Kong China and Kenya seeking a first such achievement.
The World Rugby U20 Trophy is a World Rugby competition, as such you can visit the official tournament website HERE.
