What’s on this week

12 May 2020

This is what you can read, watch, learn and listen #AsOneAtHome this week across the Scottish Rugby, Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh channels.

Scottish Rugby

There will be lots more content available across the Scottish Rugby channels once again this week, to keep you entertained and informed during lockdown!

Look out for another quiz to test your rugby knowledge on Tuesday on @ScotlandTeam Instagram Story and on Wednesday evening we’ll be showing a classic 7s match from 2019, with Scotland’s dramatic encounter with Fiji at the Singapore 7s shown in full at 7pm BST.

On this week’s Official Scottish Rugby Podcast, Scottish Rugby’s Performance Director, Jim Mallinder joins Al Kellock, Chris Paterson and Jamie McMillan to talk about his new role and what attracted him to it. He also talks about his background from his playing and coaching days right up until his move to BT Murrayfield.

Scottish Government’s National Clinical Director, Jason Leitch is also on the podcast this week to talk about the latest advice around COVID-19 and its impact on rugby. The latest episode of the podcast will be available to download from Wednesday afternoon.

On Friday night, we’ve got another classic Scotland match for you to enjoy as-live on YouTube and Facebook at 7pm BST and this week we’re going back to 1984 and a historic Grand Slam decider against France. Ahead of the match you can watch another Crabbie’s Changing Room Chat, as John Rutherford joins Al Kellock and John Manson to preview the game.

Edinburgh

Edinburgh Rugby’s week of content begins with the latest edition of their It’s Good 2 Give Local Hero initiative, with the capital club once again shining a light on a hero within their community via a feature on their website.

On Tuesday, the club will reveal the centre pairing in their All-Star XV, as voted by supporters, before #WallpaperWednesday and the latest Behind the Castle feature returns midweek – with this week’s article a sit down with Edinburgh Rugby Head of Strength and Conditioning, Nick Lumley.

The Big Edinburgh Rugby Quiz, hosted by Bruce Aitchison, will be streamed as-live on the club’s Facebook at 7pm on Thursday, while supporters can finish the working week with a brand-new episode of Inside the Castle – Edinburgh Rugby’s Official Podcast.

Finally, Saturday is once again game day with another Capital Classic featuring a match against the Scarlets from 2018, streamed as-live on the club’s Facebook and YouTube channels at 3pm BST.

Glasgow Warriors

Glasgow Warriors will once again be testing the grey matter of the Warrior Nation this week, as #TriviaTuesday returns across the club’s social media channels. The ever-popular Guess The Game and a brain-teasing quiz from Kevin Millar (@topofthemoongw) are just two of the features for fans young and old to get stuck into this week.

Following in the footsteps of fellow club legends James Eddie and Kevin Tkachuk, Glasgow Warriors’ all-time leading points scorer Dan Parks joins Duncan Seller and Craig Wright on Warriors Weekly to look back on his illustrious time with the club. The new episode will be available to listen to from Wednesday evening, whilst you can listen to all episodes so far on glasgowwarriors.org.

The first player born in the 21st century to represent Glasgow Warriors will be taking over the club’s Instagram account this week, as we spend the day training, relaxing and hanging out with Jamie Dobie.

We’ll be taking another dive into our archive this week – keep your eyes on the club’s official social media channels to see what’s on the menu this week…

Fans will have the chance to read another piece of exclusive content from Warrior this Saturday, with the club’s official magazine the perfect accompaniment to a late Saturday breakfast at home!

Finally, we’re throwing back to 2017 for the next instalment of #WarriorsReloaded on Sunday; perennial Guinness PRO14 playoff chasers Munster were in fine early-season form when they visited Scotstoun three years ago, setting the stage for a titanic clash under the Friday night lights. Watch the match in full from 3pm BST this Sunday on our Facebook and YouTube channels.
