Scotland captain Chris Paterson reckons France are still smarting from their defeat at Murrayfield last season as the two teams go into their final RBS 6 Nations game in this campaign at the Stade de France on Saturday. And though Paterson acknowledges that there are few survivors in French ranks from that fine 20-16 Scottish success he believes the pressure is very much on the hosts, not least because they still have a chance of winning the title.Scotland captain Chris Paterson reckons France are still smarting from their defeat at Murrayfield last season as the two teams go into their final RBS 6 Nations game in this campaign at the Stade de France on Saturday. And though Paterson acknowledges that there are few survivors in French ranks from that fine 20-16 Scottish success he believes the pressure is very much on the hosts, not least because they still have a chance of winning the title. He said: I’m really excited about this weekend as are the whole team. We’re looking forward to playing in a brilliant stadium against a team that we know will look to play. There’s also a burning desire in our camp to find the game we want to play and we know we’re capable of playing. Paterson, who will operate at full-back, praised the depth in the French squad but also thought they would be hoping that David Skrela recovers from an ankle injury. Skrela has been the best ten of the championship so far. He has transformed the way France play. But if Lionel Beauxis is in, that will have an affect on the way France play, with his big boot, he reasoned. Paterson wants to end the championship on a high and contends Scotland must take the game to France. do not think many defences will relish playing against the size of backline we have and hopefully that will be another avenue for us to explore before the World Cup.
