Scottish Rugby holds digital Remembrance Service

11 Nov 2020

Scottish Rugby traditionally marks armistice with a short service of remembrance at our war memorial at BT Murrayfield.

During the service we remember the 46 Scotland international players who died in the service of their country in the Boer War, First World War and Second World War.

We also remember the many thousands more from rugby communities throughout the country and beyond who paid the ultimate sacrifice in those conflicts and others.

This year, although we are unable to pay our respects in person, because of restrictions to minimise the spread of coronavirus, we have created a short, digital service, shown below and across our digital platforms today (Wednesday 11 November).

We reflect this year, too, on those affected by coronavirus.

We are grateful to Scotland captain, Stuart Hogg, Scotland Women’s captain, Rachel Malcolm, Scotland’s points record-holder Chris Paterson, Scottish Rugby Vice President Colin Rigby and staff from our Facilities, Broadcast, Events and Corporate Affairs teams for their support of this service.

In tribute to the fallen: “At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them.”
