Teams named for Scotland Women U18 day two at Six Nations Festival

15 Apr 2025

Head Coach Lindsey Smith has named two sides to face England and Ireland at day two of the U18 Six Nations Festival at Wellington College.

After two tough matches against Wales and France on day one, the squad has regrouped for day two.

The festival offers a crucial development platform for players, coaches, and match officials across the men’s and women’s game. Since their introduction, the festival have become a breeding ground for future international stars, providing invaluable experience in a high-performance environment, and for the majority of players offers up the first opportunity for international match experience.

Reflecting on day one, Smith said:  “I thought it was a good first day for us. I thought we moved the ball really well at times when we had it, but there were just a few decisions that maybe just weren’t quite right but that’s why opportunities to play in a festival like this, to learn about game management are so important for development. In terms of our physicality on both sides of the ball I thought we were really strong.

“The energy and effort in that French game was massive. France really tested and challenged us. Whilst the scoreline was heavy, it was most players first taste of international rugby so it’s s steep learning curve.

“All in all, it was a really good day one and we have definitely got some areas to work on before day two.”
