She began playing rugby with Ayr Minis, competing in mixed teams until age 11, before progressing through the girls’ pathway and representing Kyle Academy and under-15s sides.

She currently studies Interior Design at the University of Edinburgh and plays for the Edinburgh University women’s rugby team. McIntyre has been involved with the Scottish Rugby Futures programme and was selected for the senior Scotland squad for the WXV 2 tournament in South Africa in 2023, but was rules out after she sustained a serious knee injury (ACL and meniscus tear) during a training session against Wales, which sidelined her ahead of the tour.

Prior to that she competed with the Thistles in the inaugural Celtic Challenge, and returned to the competition in the 2024/25 season playing for Edinburgh Rugby.
