Scotland Club XV Confirm Coaching Team for 2027

McKillop, Head Coach of Stirling County RFC and Edinburgh District, brings valuable experience to the role, having taking charge of the team earlier this year in 2026. 

Scott Wight, Head Coach of The South District, returns alongside Andy Hill, Hamilton Bulls coach and Glasgow & the West Head Coach. Andy Henderson, Head Coach of Strathallan School and Caledonia Reds, completes the coaching team. 

Jono Willis of Watsonians FC will also continue as Team Manager, bringing continuity and organisational experience from his role as Edinburgh District Team Manager. 

Retaining the same coaching and management team will provide valuable consistency as Scotland Club XV looks to build on the foundations laid last season, continuing the progress made and strengthening the team’s preparations for the 2027 campaign.

Scotland XV Head Coach Bob McKillop said: “It’s a huge honour to be asked to coach the Scottish Club XV side again this year. Last year was about re-establishing the fixture in the calendar and in the hearts and minds of the players. This year, we have a great opportunity to build on that and hopefully club fans and players will come out to support players they play with, play against or watch every week. 

“The route to Club XV selection is through the Inter-District Championship, so it’s great that we have that competition taking place in one block in November. This gives players from across the Arnold Clark Men’s Premiership and National Leagues the chance to put themselves forward.

“I also expect the quality and intensity of the Inter-District Championship to go up a few notches as players know what’s at stake. Having the Inter-District Championship in a concentrated block will also give us a little more preparation time this season, which is great. 

“If you spoke to anyone involved last season, I think they’d tell you they loved every minute of it. From the moment the squad first met on a Sunday morning at Murrayfield to arriving back from Dublin, the buzz was fantastic. You could tell how special the experience was to the players and how much they enjoyed each other’s company.” 

Scotland Club XV will look to secure the Dalriada Cup when they host Ireland Club XV on Friday, 19 February.
