15-a-side rugby is the traditional contact format of the adult game which is played at hundreds of schools and clubs across Scotland, by men and women.

Tartan Touch
Tartan Touch is Scottish Rugby’s Fun, Simple and Social version of non-contact rugby. It’s a game for all abilities and all ages played throughout the Summer months.

Youth Rugby (U13 – U18)
Clubs and schools compete in conferences throughout Scotland. Modified formats of the game for boys and girls are split by age groups, from 8-a-side at Girls U14 level through to 15-a-side at U18 level.

Mini rugby provides children with an introduction to rugby through a fun and inclusive environment, where the focus is on participation, enjoyment and fundamental skills.

Student Rugby
University and college rugby is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills, try rugby for the first time, meet new people, and most importantly, have fun. There are many different levels of rugby available at each university or college for both men and women, it’s a game for everyone!

FOSROC Super Series
FOSROC Super Series is a separate tournament within Scottish Rugby’s competition structure. It is played by six franchise teams, with part-time professional players and is the new top tier of domestic rugby in Scotland.

Rugby 7s
Rugby 7s is a fast-paced version of the game with teams fielding only seven players on the pitch at a time. Today, clubs around the country host annual 7s tournaments, normally running throughout the Summer.

Unified Rugby (Mixed Ability)
Unified Rugby is where players with and without disabilities train, play and compete in the same team playing contact and touch rugby. There are unified rugby ‘clans’ around Scotland are supported by Scottish Rugby's Rugby Development regional teams.

Golden Oldies / Masters Rugby (35+)
Rugby for over 35s is organised by clubs on an informal basis throughout Scotland. The game is loosely based on the adult 15-a-side format, with some modifications to the laws to suit the participating teams.
