Tennent’s Premiership and National Leagues

In the Women’s Premiership, Watsonians hosted Stirling County at Myreside as the two teams battled it out for a place in the Final. It was the home-side who came out on top with a 39-0 win. Watsonian’s number eight, Freya Walker was named Player of the Match.

In the Men’s Tennent’s Premiership, Edinburgh Accies traveled west to meet GHA. The visitors came away with a 20-29 win, further cementing their third place position in the table.

Elsewhere in the Men’s Premiership, Currie Chieftains extended their lead in the table standings with a 32-0 win over Glasgow Hawks.

In the Tennent’s National 2 league, Falkirk hosted Hamilton Bulls at Dorrator Road. It was a close encounter between the two sides, but Falkirk had the edge by just three points, winning 29-26.

In Tennent’s National 3 league, Howe of Fife crept their way up the table with a 15-29 win over Strathmore.

Tennent’s Caledonia Leagues

In the Women’s Midlands/East league Livingston hosted Strathmore at Almond Park, winning 17-5.

In the Tennent’s Caledonia North Division 3 league, Gordonians 2XV proved as a force to be reckoned with against Garioch, walking away from Kellands park with a 5-55 victory. After nine games, Gordonians 2XV sit top of the table with 40 points.

Tennent’s East Leagues

It was derby time in the Women’s Midlands/East league as neighbours Lismore and Liberton faced each other in their penultimate fixture of the league at Double Hedges. Scoring six tries (Kim James, Megan Reid, Rebecca Wyllie, Roisin Holmes, Ruth Lawlor and Violeta De Puig Canosa) Lismore walked away with a bonus point win, creeping ahead of Liberton in the table standings by just one point. Full time score: 5-38.

In the Tennent’s East Reserve Division 1, Musselburgh 2XV secured a 24-43 victory over Boroughmuir 2A.

Tennent’s West Leagues

In their final game of the Tennent’s West league, Greenock Wanderers enjoyed a huge win over Bishopton. An experienced side in the Wanderers saw player Katie Purves score six tries alone, with hat-tricks from Lesley Cadenhead and Hannah Mutton. Further scores were added by Caitlyn Haldane, Hannah Shankster and captain Beverley Addison.

With two games still in hand for league newcomers Bishopton, it’s still all to play for the girls in green!

In the West Division 3 league fixture between Strathaven 2XV and East Kilbride 2XV, just 7 points separated the two sides. But it was visitors East Kilbride who walked away the winners, 14-21.
