Scotland v USA

A fantastic start to the Autumn Nations Series sees the USA Eagles playing at Scottish Gas Murrayfield for the first time since the two teams first played each other 25 years ago, in November 2000. Current Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend played stand-off that day in November 2000 and scored 33 points – including two tries – in the 53-6 win. In the intervening years the teams have met twice in Rugby World Cup tournaments (in 2003 and 2015) and on three summer tours (2002, 2014 and 2018) the last match, in Houston, won by the hosts 30-29. USA Rugby celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and is hosting the Men’s Rugby World Cup in 2031 and the Women’s Rugby World Cup in 2033.
