Ayr name back-room staff for Super6

​Ayr Head Coach, Peter Murchie, has today named his back-room and support staff ahead of the inaugural season of Super6, Scotland’s new top-tier of domestic rugby.

Following an extensive recruitment process, seven applicants were selected to support the Millbrae side, offering some extensive knowledge and experience on and off the pitch.

On the announcement, Head Coach Peter Murchie said: “Each individual brings their own strengths within their specific field.

“We have been working hard collectively in preparation for the start of the inaugural Super6 season”.

Frazier Climo, the team’s number 10, who helped his side to a league and cup double in during the 2018/19 domestic season, will take up the role of Skills Coach, whilst still offering his playing services.

Pat MacArthur will remain as Murchie’s right-hand man with the former Scotland U15s and 7s cap named as the Forwards Coach.

Alex Boyleis the newest face in the backroom department and joins Ayr with thirteen years of experience in the Strength & Conditioning field. During his career he has worked with the likes of sportscotland, Tennis Scotland, the Scottish Women’s National Football Team and Scottish Rugby’s National Age-Grade System.

Gordon Kotze, former Scottish Rugby New Coach of the Year, will be the Head of Rugby Operations. Kotze has coached the clubs U18 side for four years, before taking the reins of the 2XV for the same time period.

The Team Manager role will be filled by Douglas Stanley, who has been part of the club for over five decades and has a deep knowledge of the clubs as a former player, coach and referee.

Graham Hollins is named as the Team Doctor, while Jessica Alexander will be the Head Physiotherapist after learning her trade from former Glasgow Warriors doctor, Gerry Haggerty.
