By George, It’S Scotland V Samoa Again!
Kicking off the second leg of this season’s IRB World Series, Scotland take on Samoa in the first fixture of the tournament in George, South Africa tomorrow morning.In a bit of a deja vu situation, Stephen Gemmell’s side will meet its last opponents in the previous tournament in Dubai, when they went down 19-28 in the Plate semi to the South Sea stormers. ‘We ran them close last weekend…the players believe we can beat them this time,’ says Gemmell.After their 9.18am (GMT) start against Samoa, Scotland then face Australia (12.46) and Tunisia (15.56). The squad is: Scott Forrest (Ayr) (Captain); Calum Forrester (GHA), Richie Vernon (Glasgow Warriors), Scott Newlands (Edinburgh), Chris Fusaro (Heriot’s), Stephen McColl (Dunfermline), Colin Gregor (Glasgow Warriors), Chris Kinloch (Ediburgh Accies), James Thompson (Heriot’s), Andrew Dymock (Dundee HSFP), Grant Anderson (Ayr), Ruaridh Jackson (Glasgow Hawks).
