Chris Paterson :Scottish Rugby Statement
Scottish Rugby is dismayed to hear the news that Chris Paterson is to leave Edinburgh Rugby with immediate effect to join the English Premiership club Gloucester. Scottish Rugby has written to Edinburgh Rugby asking for their explanation for Paterson’s departure and how this affects their obligations to Scottish Rugby. An urgent response has been requested. Scottish Rugby has written to Edinburgh Rugby asking for their explanation for Paterson’s departure and how this affects their obligations to Scottish Rugby. An urgent response has been requested. Earlier today Edinburgh Rugby announced that the 74 times capped Paterson was leaving the club by mutual consent and with immediate effect. Edinburgh Rugby’s media statement noted: Chris has been a loyal servant to the club over the past nine seasons including three as club captain and leaves to take on a new challenge with Gloucester.
