Scots set for London 7s

25 May 2022

Scotland will compete in Pool D of this weekend’s London 7s as part of the HSBC World Sevens Series at Twickenham.

Ciaran Beattie’s charges have been drawn alongside the tournament hosts, who they play in their opening fixture, as well as a strong Samoa team and Japan, who complete the group.

Scotland faced some tough fixtures in Toulouse last weekend but rallied to come back from behind to beat Kenya before defeating a South Africa side who had won four of the past six HSBC World Sevens Series events in 2021/22.

Beattie said at the end of the Toulouse leg: “I was really proud of the way we stuck at it after such a tough pool, beating Kenya and then that super win over South Africa. We’re looking forward to Twickenham next week.”

There is one change to the Scotland squad for London, with Reiss Cullen coming in for Harvey Elms, who picked up a minor Achilles injury in France.
