USA advancing in midfield until a shuddering double-hit, and then we get the penalty.
Amazing kick from Hocking, we’re only 10m out on the right.
The forwards push hard to get to the line, and it’s McVie again who can’t be stopped under the posts. Hocking converts.

Ollie Blyth-Lafferty is replaced by Jake Shearer.
Cockburn steals the lineout, and we get up to the line with penalty advantage. Hocking’s cross-field attempt doesn’t work, and we go back to tap the penalty.
Jerry Blyth-Lafferty’s two-try performance is over. On comes Seb Stephen.
Inventive short kick off from USA and they keep the ball, but then Currie wins the jackal penalty and Patterson goes quickly.
Doyle finds some space on the right and stabs a low kick through. It goes out on the 22, USA lineout there.

Off comes Freddy Douglas after an outstanding shift. On comes Ollie Duncan for his Scotland U20 debut.
USA steal the lineout, get a penalty and go quickly. But at the first breakdown Douglas is in there again for yet another jackal penalty.

We’re going backwards phase after phase, but a let-off as USA are offside.

Several phases for the US in midfield, and then this time Douglas’ jackal attempt is no good and he’s pinged for not releasing.

From kick off, McConnell and Currie break up the middle, but it’s eventually spilled by Doyle.
USA kick clear and then there’s a knock on. USA scrum, and they use it to end the half.
Upwards of 15 phases from Scotland in the 22. Not many of them for more than a few inches of gain, but they all count! It’s Tom Currie who eventually makes the final inches. McLean wide from the tee.

From the edge of his 22, the scrum-half snipes at the base of a ruck and flies clear. Sprinting for the left corner, he finds Jerry Blyth-Lafferty who showed incredible determination to keep up with him.
From the next phase, we ship out to the right when Ventisei straightens, splits the midfield and dives under the posts. McLean converts.

From the lineout Johnny Ventisei hits the flat line, but loses it in the tackle and USA escape.

USA chip over the top and Fergus Watson is beaten to the ball. It’s hacked deep into our 22 and picked up by McLean.
But he’s away down the left! He finds Gwynn, who kicks ahead. USA recover and clear, but Ventisei runs it back.

Welcome to the Scottish Rugby Match Centre for the all-important World Rugby U20 Trophy final between Scotland Men U20 and USA U20.
The next 80 minutes will decide who gets promoted to the U20 Championship next year.
