Global DRO reminder for players to check medicines

Players are reminded that they can check medications using Global Drug Reference Online (DRO) to confirm if they are on the WADA prohibited list for rugby.

The Global Drug Reference Online (Global DRO) provides athletes and support personnel with information about the prohibited status of specific medications based on the current World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List.

Players can search the Global DRO for specific information on products sold in the United Kingdom.

Head of Medical Operations Richard Wood said: “At a time of year where players often fall ill, the Global DRO provides an excellent resource to protect yourself from taking a prohibited medication.

“An inadvertent decision to take medication without checking could lead to an Anti-Doping Rule Violation, so I would always recommend players to stay on the safe side and make sure what they are taking is not prohibited.”

The Global DRO can be found HERE.
