Global DRO reminder for players to check medicines
Players are reminded that they can check medications using Global Drug Reference Online (DRO) to confirm if they are on the WADA prohibited list for rugby.
The Global Drug Reference Online (Global DRO) provides athletes and support personnel with information about the prohibited status of specific medications based on the current World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List.
Players can search the Global DRO for specific information on products sold in the United Kingdom, or check the UKAD website.
Head of Medical Operations Richard Wood said: “With the 2025 Prohibited list coming into effect as of the 1st January 2025, It is important that all players continue check all medications via Global DRO. Global DRO provides an excellent resource for players to protect themselves from taking a medication that may be prohibited.
Poor diligence in checking a medication could lead to an Anti-Doping Rule Violation, Scottish Rugby recommends all players to stay safe and make sure any medications they are taking is not prohibited.”
