Scotland head coach Frank Hadden will take charge of the Scotland A team for the Barclays Churchill Cup to be held for the first time in England this summer. Hadden and his management team are able to commit to piloting the Scotland A team as there is no summer tour in this World Cup year. Hadden said: In the absence of any summer tour or away games, the national management team are now available and George Graham and Alan Tait and I will all be involved. It seemed to make sense that this year we should take a look at players who may well feature in the World Cup or could be involved in the next World Cup in 2011. Scotland A defeated both England A and Canada to reach the final of the tournament under Border Reivers head coach Steve Bates guidance in Canada last June where ultimately they lost out to an impressive New Zealand Maori team. A full announcement on who will coach the Scotland A team for their meeting with their Italian counterparts on 23 February will be made next week.
