2025 Rugby World Cup Preview: Scotland v Wales

The 2025 Rugby World Cup is upon us, and Scotland Women begin their campaign against Wales at Salford Community Stadium tomorrow (kick off 2.45pm) - live on BBC One.

What they said

Head Coach Bryan Easson said: “It’s a strong side, probably the strongest one I’ve been able to pick over my time with the national squad.

“We’re focused on this job. We haven’t built it up too much, it’s been slowly building and will continue to slowly build.

“There will be a lot of Scottish supporters there, and we’ll thrive on that. We’ve been playing in front of capacity crowds, we’ve filled Hive Stadium, so we know what to expect.”

  • Rachel Malcolm captains Scotland for the 50th time tomorrow.
  • Scotland have won their last three games against Wales, but lost the last World Cup opener to them in Whangārei in 2022.
  • Scotland will be looking for a first win in a World Cup since beating Sweden in Guildford in 2010.
