Adamson, Blain, Davidson and Grove-White to officiate in 2023 Six Nations competitions

In addition, Ben Blain, Hollie Davidson and Sam Grove-White have been given officiating roles throughout the 2023 U20 Six Nations.

Former Scotland 7s player Mike Adamson began his refereeing career in 2014 which has included officiating on the World 7s Series, the United Rugby Championship and the Guinness Six Nations. In 2022, Mike took charge of Wales v England.

Ben Blain joined the Scottish Rugby refereeing group in 2016 and has so far been part of the match officials team in the Tennent’s Premiership, United Rugby Championship and refereed the 2019 Belgium v Georgia Rugby Europe Championship match. He was most recently selected as assistant referee for multiple 2022 Autumn Tests including Romania v Chile alongside Mike Adamson and the French Barbarians v Fiji match.

Next year, Ben will expand his refereeing portfolio when he acts as assistant referee during both the Wales v Ireland and Ireland v France U20 Six Nations matches which take place on 3 February and 10 February respectively. Ben has also been appointed as TMO for the Italy v Ireland and England v France U20 Six
Nations games.

It has been a stellar year for Hollie Davidson which has been nicely rounded off by the announcement that she will be part of the officiating team for three 2023 U20 Six Nations matches.

This year, Hollie became the first female to referee a men’s Six Nations team when Portugal took on Italy and most recently took charge of the 2021 Rugby World Cup Final between hosts New Zealand and England.

Sam Grove-White’s refereeing career has blossomed over the last few years and he will join his Scottish Rugby colleagues in the 2023 U20 Six Nations when he acts as assistant referee in both the Italy v Ireland and England v France matches.
