A new era takes shape

Head Coach Sean Everitt goes into the new season with a revamped coaching team behind him.

Brad Davis arrives as Defence Coach from the Queensland Reds, Tim Sampson joins as Attack Coach following his stint with the Fijian Drua, and Stevie Lawrie continues in his role as Forwards Coach.

Six new signings have already been confirmed for the playing squad – fly-half James Grayson, centre Riley Higgins, scrum-half Louie Chapman, prop Alec Hepburn, winger Geordie Gwynn and centre Kienan Higgins – as Edinburgh build towards another big campaign in both the BKT United Rugby Championship and the EPCR Challenge Cup.

Home fixtures to look forward to

The 2026/27 BKT URC fixture list is confirmed, and Edinburgh’s home schedule has plenty to get excited about.

The season gets under way under the Hive Stadium lights on Friday 2 October against DHL Stormers, with Fidelity Securedrive Lions following on Friday 23 October and Dragons RFC visiting on Friday 4 December.

Before the year is out, Edinburgh host Glasgow Warriors at Scottish Gas Murrayfield on Sunday 27 December – a 3pm kick-off for the opening leg of the famous 1872 Cup, one of the most anticipated fixtures in the Scottish rugby calendar.

The New Year brings Benetton Rugby to EH12 on Saturday 2 January, before a blockbuster Friday night fixture against Leinster on Saturday 27 February.

Cardiff Rugby follow on Friday 16 April, Zebre Parma on Thursday 7 May, and Munster complete the home URC programme on Friday 14 May.

Edinburgh will also host EPCR Challenge Cup pool stage fixtures at Hive Stadium – further details on those ties will be confirmed in due course.
