First Look at the Nations Championship Trophy Ahead of Tournament Kick-Off

16 Jun 2026

The Nations Championship trophy has been revealed for the first time, marking the final countdown to the inaugural tournament kicking off on 4 July.

Standing 67cm tall and weighing 15kg, the trophy has been crafted as a symbol of a new era for international rugby. At its heart sits a gold-plated globe, representing the worldwide reach of the competition, while longitude and latitude markings run across its body. Two twisting handles symbolise the meeting of Northern and Southern Hemisphere rugby, reflecting the global rivalry at the centre of the tournament.

The Nations Championship will bring together the twelve strongest teams in world rugby, with the Six Nations unions representing the Northern Hemisphere and the SANZAAR nations, alongside Fiji and Japan, representing the South.

Across July and November, each team will play six cross-hemisphere fixtures, with every match contributing to group standings and the race to reach the Finals Weekend in London.

The three-day Finals Weekend will determine not only the first Nations Championship champions but also which hemisphere will claim the inaugural Hemisphere Crown. You can get your tickets for Finals Weekend here.

The unveiling of the trophy marks another significant milestone for a competition designed to elevate the international game and create meaningful fixtures between the world’s leading rugby nations.
