Scottish Rugby proud to support “The Next Generation” in Clean Sport Week 2025

23 May 2025

Scottish Rugby is proud to reaffirm its commitment to Clean Sport and be part of the team for UK Anti-Doping’s (UKAD’s) Clean Sport Week campaign.

This year’s theme, The Next Generation, has seen our Scotland U20 Men and Women’s sides wear Clean Sport Week t-shirts during training.

UKAD had a stall at the recent Scottish Rugby Community Game Conference.

The purpose of the theme is to ensure the future of sport is bright and clean, and highlights the importance of supporting and educating young people on anti-doping and inspiring them to become proud clean athletes.

Reuben Logan, who started all five of Scotland U20 Men’s 2025 U20 Six Nations matches, said: “We have a good Scotland U20 Men group just now, we work really hard for each other to drive us all to be better players.

“That’s why clean sport is so important, to ensure that everyone gets a fair chance to compete and is rewarded for their effort and the hours they put in.

“As young athletes it’s important we get into good habits early and learning the value of clean sport and things like how to check medications we might have to use is a massive part of that.”

Scottish Rugby’s Head of Medical Operations Richard Wood said: “We are once again delighted to support the Clean Sport Week campaign. It is so important that any success our players and teams achieve is down purely to their hard work both as an individual & collectively as a team.

“This year’s theme of the next generation is an important one. It is vital to give our young players the education needed on clean sport and the standards and guidelines they should stick to.

“We will continue to be delivering the 100% Me and Clean Sport training to athletes in all of our national and pathway teams. We also recently had a UKAD stall throughout the day at our Community Game Conference as part of our continued work to provide information at the grassroots level.”
