As Scotland team prepare for their opening pool match, against Wales on Saturday afternoon, the country can get behind the team with these resources.

The newly published resources include:

  • a 32-page schools pack, focusing on the history of the tournament, information and tasks about this year’s edition, and of course information and tasks about our own Scotland Women’s team
  • digital assets for clubs and schools to access promotional materials, which can be adapted and shared on social media channels and at watch along events
  • club spotlight videos, featuring some of the amazing work clubs are doing to progress women and girls rugby in our communities, each with their own emphasis on a different part of the pathway
  • and more to come during the tournament

Scottish Rugby’s Lead Development Manager for Women & Girls Rugby, Rosy Ryan, said:

We want to capture the excitement and inspiration that the Women’s Rugby World Cup is about to ignite for all young girls across the country. Our hope is that this moment sparks a belief – that any girl can pick up a rugby ball, be part of a game and know that rugby is truly for everyone.

We want Scotland to stand proud, show their support and get behind the team as they make history on a world stage by completing these great activities at school, at home and in our clubs,” she said.

So, whether you’re a super sprinter like Rhona Lloyd, a leader like Rachel Malcolm, or as strong and powerful as Lana Skeldon, we think you’ll love our clubs and schools’ activities.

Take the schools resource with you and complete it with your teacher and classmates to get to know our team better and follow their campaign as they take on the best teams in the world.
