Norman Douglas (Selkirk) was tonight elected to the Scottish Rugby Council as representative of Premier Division 2 clubs. Campbell dropped out after the first round, having secured two votes to Douglas’s four and Wallace’s five. In the second round of voting Douglas attracted six votes to five for Wallace.
