Scotland Squad Update

Scotland wing Max Evans and lock Jim Hamilton were unable to train with the squad when they convened at Murrayfield today to begin preparations for Sunday’s home RBS 6 Nations Championship match against France. Evans is continuing his rehabilitation for the ankle injury he sustained against Wales eight days ago, while Hamilton has a throat infection.    Two other forwards, Richie Vernon (ankle) and Scott Lawson (dead leg) are also receiving treatment from the Scotland medical team following injuries they sustained in their club matches at the weekend, Vernon for Sale Sharks against Northampton Saints and Lawson in the Gloucester v Bath encounter. Meanwhile, Ed Kalman, the Glasgow Warriors prop who made his international debut in Cardiff, resumes team training today having recovered from neck pain following that match. His Warriors team-mate, stand-off Ruaridh Jackson, is added to the Scotland squad having played in the last two Warriors RaboDirect PRO12 matches against Scarlets and Connacht. The Scotland team will be named on Wednesday.
