Scotland U18 Development Squad
The Scotland U18 Development Squad met over the Christmas break for further training and monitoring. The squad included six players from the Exiles programme. The Development squad is a rollover from the Scotland U17 programme to continue progression, whilst providing opportunities for other players to break into the squad. This programme now ends with the players preparing for the forthcoming Inter District matches. These games will decide the full Scotland U18 squad for this season, with selectors watching the games and allowing all the players involved to show their individual ability. In addition to the six Exiles who attended the camp, several others put a marker down at the development weekend in Leeds in December where the Exiles played the Independent School Barbarians. This was a warm up fixture prior to the District game against Glasgow (18th January), where the boys will get their big chance to show in front of national selectors. The six players involved were: Chris Bloomfield (Hymers College), Duncan Morrison (London Wasps), Stephen Quigley (Hull Ionians), Wesley Santos (London Irish), James Tyas (Brighton College and Harlequins), Cameron Smart (Cobham)
