Match Tickets: Digital-only tickets on the new FREE Scottish Rugby Ticketing App

To improve access, security and sustainability on Scotland matchdays, all Scotland match tickets are being issued to the Scottish Rugby Ticketing App to be scanned at the turnstiles at Scottish Gas Murrayfield for entry into the stadium. Your Scottish Rugby ticketing account – the one you used to purchase your tickets – will link your ticket(s) to the new App using the mobile number registered to your ticketing account. As there should only be one ticket per device, all ticket holders (except children or dependents) first download the app so the purchaser can transfer their tickets to their devices in order to enter the stadium. If you’ve bought a few tickets for family or friends, you’ll be able to transfer these tickets to each person in your group once they have downloaded the app to their smartphone.

If you need help with your ticket(s) please contact us well in advance of matchday to resolve any issues. This will ensure you are able to enter the stadium easily on matchday.

Bags: no bigger than A4

For security reasons supporters are urged where possible not to bring bags to Scottish Gas Murrayfield. Bags larger than A4 size (21cm x 30cm) will not be permitted unless required for medical or childcare reasons. Bags A4 size or smaller will be searched prior to entry into the stadium.

NOTE – Scottish Gas Murrayfield does NOT have bag drop facilities so patrons with larger bags require to take them away and deposit them in a safe place before entering the stadium.

What not to bring

Please be aware that it is a criminal offence to possess fireworks and flares at events like rugby matches.

Any person whose conduct is deemed to be offensive or abusive, or who may compromise public safety, will be reported to the police.

Health

Please follow current Scottish Government guidelines. Hand-sanitisers will be situated throughout the stadium.

Scottish Gas Murrayfield is located to the west of Edinburgh and is well served by public transport and is only a 45-minute walk from the city centre and only a 20-minute walk from Haymarket train station.

Plan your journey and know your travel options by checking your travel providers website for all of the latest information ahead of your day. Check with your travel provider for any changes to services as well as details of the last service of the evening.

By Train

Customers are encouraged to buy their ticket in advance at staffed stations, on the ScotRail website, or via the mTicket system on the ScotRail app. Buying tickets through the mTickets system means people can buy their tickets from the comfort of their home or on the way to the station and it will instantly become available on their mobile device.

Plan ahead and ensure you check your travel providers website for any updates ahead of travel.

By Tram

Edinburgh’s tram line runs from Edinburgh Airport into the city centre and onto Leith. There’s a stop at Murrayfield, exit from which takes you onto Roseburn Street.

Please note tickets must be purchased prior to boarding trams. You can either use the ticket vending machines at trams stops or pre-purchase tickets on the Transport for Edinburgh App. To find out more and to pre-purchase your tram tickets visit edinburghticket.com.

By Bus

Lothian Buses run several routes throughout the city that service Scottish Gas Murrayfield. All Lothian buses accept contactless payments or you can download the Lothian Bus mobile app to help plan your travel to the game. Visit lothianbuses.com and use their journey planner ahead of travel for specific information regarding routes on match day.

On Foot

Scottish Gas  Murrayfield is approximately a 45-minute walk from Edinburgh city centre. From Princes Street head to Shandwick Place, which leads on to Atholl Place, then onto Haymarket Terrace. Continue and either turn left onto Roseburn Street at the Roseburn Bar (for the south turnstiles) or continue and turn left onto Riversdale Crescent at the Murrayfield Bar (for the north turnstiles).

By Car

Please note there is no parking available in the streets around the stadium on event days. The only official parking at Scottish Gas Murrayfield is for pass holders.

Please visit the Edinburgh Council for any planned road closures.

There are various Park and Ride facilities in Edinburgh. Please see the Edinburgh City Council website for further information.

Turnstiles

There are banks of turnstiles all around the stadium so you can enter easily no matter where you are coming from.

• NORTH: (beside Murrayfield Ice Rink)
• NORTH EAST: (off Roseburn Crescent)
• SOUTH & EAST: (off Roseburn Street)
• WEST: (off Roseburn St, Baird Drive and Riversdale Cres.)

West Fan Village

This is the area behind the West Stand next to Edinburgh Rugby’s Stadium. You can access this area before turnstiles open as follows:

From the South and East:

Off Roseburn Street, along the pedestrian walkway by side of the rail/tramline near the bridge.

From the North:

Off Corstorphine Road, via Riversdale Crescent and the Ice-Rink Car park.

From the West:

Off Baird Drive, over Baird Drive Bridge.

Remember Scottish Gas Murrayfield is located in a residential area so please be respectful of our neighbours when arriving and leaving the stadium.

Please Note: Limited Cash Payments
Scottish Gas Murrayfield is a cashless stadium, with contactless/card payment only at all refreshment units. (Cash is accepted in the Macron Store. Because the stadium is cashless, there are no ATMs onsite).

Macron merchandise at The Scottish Rugby Store & Marquees
The Scottish Rugby Store, situated in the lower south-west corner of the stadium, and the merchandise marquees behind the North and East stands will all be open from general turnstiles opening and again after the final whistle.

Scotland Team Arrival
Give the Scotland players a rousing welcome to Scottish Gas Murrayfield when the team coach arrives at 1.40pm behind the West Stand, with a special Peter Vardy vehicle “Leading The Charge”.

 Kicking Simulator 
As part of its exciting new partnership with Scottish Rugby, Scottish Gas is introducing a Convert to Zero rugby simulator at this Saturday’s game. The interactive game lets you kick a rugby ball through simulated goal posts, with each attempt becoming increasingly more difficult, for the chance to win a great prize. Join us in the West Fan Village to find out if you’ve got what it takes to kick for success – and to have a chat with expert Scottish Gas engineers about going greener at home!

Peter Vardy Driving Simulator
The ever-popular Peter Vardy Driving Experience is returning for the Famous Grouse Nations Series. Come along on Saturday and test your driving skills and see how you compare with Scotland players!

Special Guest DJ in the West Fan Village
Former Scotland international Adam Ashe is spinning the disks in the West Fan Village ahead of Saturday’s Scotland v France match at Scottish Gas Murrayfield (Saturday 5 August, kick-off 3.15pm).

Have your photo taken with the Calcutta Cup
Who can forget Scotland’s epic win at Twickenham in this year’s Guinness Six Nations. Duhan van der Merwe’s unbelievable solo try in the first half and then finishing off a length-of-the-field team try in the closing stages to secure their third successive win against England. The famous Calcutta Cup will be on display in the West Fan Village before Saturday’s game, so come along and have your photo taken with it!

The fun continues inside the stadium. As well as a cracking game of rugby in prospect (Scotland field a strong side to take on number 3 in the world – France) there are loads of entertainments once you take your seat.

To the North, our Pizza and Stovies units also offer gluten free dishes, whilst in the East and South our pizza outlets offer both gluten free and vegan options.

To quench your thirst, in the West Fan Village you’ll also come across our draught and canned bars pouring pints of Tennent’s Lager, GUINNESS, and Caledonia Best, all served in recyclable pint cups.  Our range of cans include Tennent’s Lager, Drygate Seven Peaks IPA, Magners Cider and Magners Dark Fruit.  Along with a full range of single serve wines, as well as a selection of soft drinks including Coca-Cola Zero and Diet Coke, IRN-BRU, and Strathmore still water…you’ll certainly not go thirsty!

The popular supporters bar is situated on the 1^st floor in the South-west corner and is open at 1.15pm and again after the game – serving a full draught range of Tennent’s Lager, Drygate Seven Peaks IPA, Magners Cider and Caledonia Best as well as non-alcoholic drinks.

The Famous Grouse

Look out for The Famous Grouse Clubhouse in the West Fan Village, offering classic drinks and summer cocktails, all served while DJ and former Scotland international, Adam Ashe, brings you a live set.

Post Match Entertainment

Stay with us post match and watch Wales v England on the big screen in the West Fan Village from 5.30pm.

Ref Talk!

Battery operated handsets with earphones allow you to hear the referee throughout the game. They are available from sellers located around the stadium, priced £8. If for any reason you have issues with your handset please speak to someone at a Macron Outlet, including the marquess in the North & East, or in the Macron store in the West.

Blue Crew

If you have any questions on the day, look out for one of our Blue Crew members (wearing blue jackets) who will be happy to help. During the game, contact your nearest steward (wearing a yellow jacket). There are stewards at the entrance to every section of the stadium.

Supporter Wellbeing
Scottish Rugby wants everyone who comes to Scottish Gas Murrayfield to have a great match day experience. Supporters are encouraged to be mindful of others while enjoying all that is on offer. Scottish Rugby does not encourage nor tolerate ‘booing’ of the opposition at any point during the game and asks all fans to refrain from engaging in this activity. If you see anything that you aren’t comfortable with, please be sure to speak to a member of staff who can be found within the stands or located around the stadium.

Feel unwell?
We have a full medical team on duty for your safety and wellbeing, including First Aid, paramedics and doctors. If you feel unwell, please contact your nearest steward, who will direct you to further help. The First Aid room is located at ground level in the south west corner of the stadium (near the Scottish Rugby store).

If you mislay property in the stadium please contact your nearest steward. If you discover the loss after the event, contact our Customer Services team at [email protected].

With the help of our official waste and recycling partner Biffa, we managed to recycle 49% of our matchday waste at Scottish Gas Murrayfield and Edinburgh Rugby’s Stadium during the Autumn Nations Series last November. The remaining general waste was converted from waste to energy – we are proud that none of our waste goes to land fill.

With Biffa’s help we have introduced new segregated bins to the stadium to improve our direct recycling stats and would like to encourage everyone attending this weekend to use these recycling and general waste bins to dispose of your litter responsibly and help us continue to keep matchdays more sustainable.

Ahead of this weekend’s game against France, we are running a competition to give away a pair of tickets to the Scotland v England match at Scottish Gas Murrayfield on Saturday 24 February 2024.

Tickets for the hugely anticipated encounter in the Guinness Six Nations haven’t gone on public sale yet, but anyone who has bought or buys a ticket to Saturday’s match against France before 5pm this Friday will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win (T&Cs apply).
