Leading UK performance director Steven Seligmann has been appointed to the Scottish Rugby Limited Board.
Steven brings extensive leadership experience and in-depth understanding of working in an integrated way at board, executive and senior leadership level across high-performance sport.
His career to date has seen him working in high performance roles across team sports, professional sport, Olympic and Paralympic teams and he brings a proven track record of working in partnership with, and leading complex performance environments and professional organisations.
He has been the Performance Director at British Shooting since 2014, where he has overseen medal winning success across three Olympic and Paralympic cycles, most recently achieving a gold and silver at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Prior to that he spent a decade in cricket with high performance, talent development and coaching roles firstly with Cricket Scotland and for seven years, the England & Wales Cricket Board.
Steven is also an independent non-executive director with GB Snowsports and Deputy Chair of the UK Sport Performance Director Forum Strategic Steering Group.
Steven attended Banchory Academy in Aberdeenshire and played youth rugby at Aboyne RFC.
He studied at the University of Edinburgh before completing a post grad diploma at Napier University Business School.
He joins as the second of the Scottish Rugby Union Board’s nominated Independent Non-Executive Directors, following former SP Energy Networks CEO Frank Mitchell’s appointment in December 2024.

“I look forward to working with the SRL Board to support Scottish Rugby’s aspirations from growing the community game to achieving success with the national women and men’s teams. I enjoy working with organisations in this phase of their ambition and feel my experience across a broad range of high-performance sport could add value.”
