Scotland v New Zealand

Saturday 8 November, kick-off 3.10pm
Scottish Gas Murrayfield

Rugby World Cup 2023 runners-up (they lost by a single point to South Africa in the final) New Zealand are heading to Scottish Gas Murrayfield for the first time since 2022. Scotland were ahead 23-14 in that game going into the last quarter, then only a point behind in the last few minutes until Mark Telea’s converted try took the visitors to 31-23 win. Scotland were even closer to winning in 2017 when Beauden Barrett’s try-saving tackle right at the end denied the Scots a famous first-ever win against the All Blacks. Over the summer New Zealand completed a 3-0 Test series win against reigning Guinness Six Nations Champions, France and have recorded wins over South Africa, Argentina and Australia in the Rugby Championship.

Scotland v Argentina

Sunday 16 November, kick-off 3.10pm
Scottish Gas Murrayfield

Argentina reached the semi-finals of the 2023 Rugby World Cup and then, after appointing former stand-off/centre Felipe Contepomi as head coach, climbed up to 5th in the world rankings after a run of eye-catching wins against New Zealand, Australia and South Africa in last year’s Rugby Championship. In this year’s championship they recorded a home win against New Zealand (their first ever win against the All Blacks on home soil) and beat Australia in front of a sold-out crowd in Sydney. It’s three years since Los Pumas were last at Scottish Gas Murrayfield, when the crowd enjoyed a 12-try thriller, eight of them coming from Scotland – including a hat-trick from Darcy Graham – for a 52-29 win.

Scotland v Tonga

Sunday 23 November, kick-off 1.40pm
Scottish Gas Murrayfield

The series ends with a game against the entertaining and flamboyant South Sea Islanders. Scotland last faced Tonga at the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France, winning 45-17 in Nice, and Tonga’s last visit to Scottish Gas Murrayfield was in 2021. That year’s game was the first at the Home of Scottish Rugby for twenty years – although the teams had played in Aberdeen (2012) and Kilmarnock (2014) – and the crowd was treated to winger Kyle Steyn scoring four of Scotland’s ten tries. In the recent Pacific Nations Cup Tonga finished 3rd after beating Canada in the 3rd Place play-off.
