Trio of Scottish officials set for summer of international appointments

This summer, Hollie Davidson will make yet more history in her career as a match official when she takes charge of her first full tier one international match.

Davidson will referee South Africa against Italy at Loftus Verfield in Pretoria, fresh from officiating the Springboks last year against Portugal.

Hollie will be joined by Mike Adamson and Sam Grove-White in officiating a number of summer internationals this year, with all three involved in England XV v France XV at the Allianz Stadium in June, with Davidson taking charge, Grove-White appointed as an assistant referee and Adamson as Television Match Official (TMO).

On Saturday 5 July, Grove-White will then take charge of USA v Belgium as he continues his own path to officiate more international matches.

Adamson will assume the role of TMO and FPRO (Foul Play Review Officer) in a number of games including Argentina v England.

On the appointments, Andy Macpherson, Scottish Rugby’s High Performance Match Official Manager, said: “Every international window represents an opportunity for our officials to gain more valuable experience at the top level.

“This summer the three best referees in the country have been rewarded with their performances this year and it all starts at the Allianz Stadium when the three of them will work together for the England XV v France XV match.

“All of these occasions will continue to help them as they look to progress.

“Hollie is a continual record-breaker and we are proud of her ongoing achievements. She has a big year ahead with the Women’s World Cup following the summer internationals which is a big aim for her.

“Sam is progressing quickly and his appointment to the USA match against Belgium is just reward for his performances this year.

“Mike has already gained Six Nations experience as a TMO and to be involved at the top level once again is what he deserves given his dedication and the way he has officiated URC matches this season.”
