Despite going down 17-0 in the first half, coach Stephen Gemmell spoke of how his team showed great temperament to eventually win the game. The boys showed great character to come back from going down early. After the first half, we defended better, we got our hands on the ball and more importantly we kept the ball. It’s a positive start in terms of getting the win but there’s plenty work still to do. The Scots found themselves 17-0 down inside the first seven minutes before Scott Newlands crossed the line to give them optimism going into the second half. James Thompson was first to find the whitewash in the second period, Mike Adamson converting, before Chris Fusaro and Ali Warnock followed suit to seal the victory.
