Scottish Rugby Union AGM

2026 Annual General Meeting

2026 SRU AGM Meeting date
The Scottish Rugby Union AGM 2026 will be held on Wednesday 2 December 2026 at 6.00pm at Scottish Gas Murrayfield on a hybrid basis. Participants will be able to attend in person or online. Further information and formal notice of the meeting and the full business to be covered will follow in due course.

SRU AGM 2026 – VP Election

One application for the position of Vice-President was received by the 31 August 2026 deadline.  Bill Faulds (Falkirk RFC) is being proposed by Falkirk RFC, seconded by Stewart’s Melville and is accompanied by supporting letters from at least 10 other full member clubs, in accordance with the SRU Articles of Association. His written statement is available on the Scottish Rugby website.

A vote on the appointment will take place at the AGM by way of an ordinary resolution.

Member Requisitions

Members holding not less than 5% of the voting rights (currently equating to at least 8 full member clubs or associated bodies) may requisition a general meeting and include a resolution within that. If you wish to requisition a meeting – which would be held as a special general meeting – to take place on the same day as the SRU AGM (2 December 2026) the relevant documentation will need to be submitted no earlier than Wednesday 14th October 2026 and no later than Friday 6th November 2026.

A meeting requisition must state the general nature of the business to be dealt with at the general meeting and can include the text of a resolution that may be properly moved at the meeting. The process for this and for resolutions at company meetings more generally are subject to a number of statutory requirements under the Companies Act 2006 which differ from those under the former Union’s Bye-Laws.

If your club is intending to submit a request, you should seek professional advice or contact the Company Secretary via the following email address: [email protected]
