Saltire Energy, a leading supplier of drilling tools to the global offshore oil and gas industry, became an Official Partner of Scottish Rugby in 2021 and the extension of the agreement will see the firm continue its support of international matchdays for the Scotland Men’s Team.

Importantly to the global family business, the company also continues its commitment to ‘Saltire Energy Rugby Schools Week’ and ‘Saltire Energy Caledonia Cup’ reinforcing its commitment to the communities it operates in and focusing on the positive impact sport plays in the lives of young people.

This year’s Saltire Energy Rugby Schools Week again saw incredible numbers of young people participating with 270 schools signing up. Last month, the Saltire Energy Caledonian Cup saw more than 600 young players from the region compete in the largest regional rugby Finals Day in Scotland.

Commenting on the extended partnership, Mike Loggie, CEO of Saltire Energy, said:  “We are delighted to continue our official partnership with Scottish Rugby. As a passionate follower of rugby, and during such an exciting time for the National teams, it is fantastic to continue our support.

“We feel strongly about the role sport has in the lives of young people; its ability to motivate and empower which we witness during the school’s competitions which saw over 20,000 pupils engage in the game in one week.  Our core values at Saltire Energy very much align with the game; respect, leadership, achievement, enjoyment and engagement and because of that we are excited to continue the journey and be part of the future successes too.”

Scottish Rugby interim Commercial Director, Chris Healy, said: “The commitment from Saltire Energy to support Scottish Rugby for five years is testament to the many shared values that we hold. Both organisations are aligned with the passion to support the game at grassroots level through our community clubs and schools.

“Saltire Energy has been a much valued official partner of Scottish Rugby and I am delighted that we can continue working with them and can’t wait to grow the already very positive and successful partnership.”

Scottish Rugby Director of Rugby Development, Gavin Scott, added: “The partnership that Scottish Rugby has built with Saltire Energy over the past three years has allowed for significant leaps in our development of activities both within their local region of Caledonia North as well as across the whole of Scotland within our schools’ initiatives.

“This is aligned with our own strategic work to break down barriers and create wider access to rugby for boys and girls across Scotland. Saltire Energy has been great to work with and I am really excited with where we can take this partnership over the next two years.”

Saltire Energy is the leading oilfield rental specialist in equipment to the global energy sector head-quartered in Aberdeen. Established in 1986, continuous investment in its state-of-the-art facilities and innovative product lines has seen the company grow to service worldwide operations for global operators.
