UK Anti-Doping’s (UKAD) national awareness week, Clean Sport Week is running this week and ‘Journey to the Podium’ is the theme.

Scottish Rugby is ensuring all its athletes are prepared for matches by delivering anti-doping education training. This season 589 players and support personnel have attended either a 100% Me or a Clean Sport workshop.

Scottish Rugby’s Head of Medical Operations Richard Wood said: “We are once again delighted to support the Clean Sport Week campaign. It is so important that any success our players and teams achieve is down purely to their hard work both as an individual & collectively as a team.

“Giving your best with dedication on the field and off it is what rugby is all about.

“We will continue to be delivering the 100% Me and Clean Sport training to athletes in all of our national and pathway teams.”

FOSROC Super Series teams have been involved in anti-doping education, and will support Clean Sport Week in the Sprint fixtures this weekend.

Scottish Rugby has also continued the Clean Sport module for clubs across Scotland to sign up for via SCRUMS. The module outlines the important of players competing in clean sport, and provides clear guidance for players and those around them on the risks and potential consequences of supplementation so that coaches and parents can support players in making informed choices.
