Eight U16 and four U18 regional sides will play at Stirling County RFC this weekend in the first academy festival of the new season.
The festival will represent the first chance some players will have to represent their region, while for others it sees them move from the U16 to U18 age grade.
The fixtures are as follows:
Edinburgh Cannons U16 v Glasgow & West Blues U16 – 12pm kick off
Borders & East Lothian Reds U16 v Caledonia Thistles U16 – 12pm kick off
Main Borders & East Lothian U18 v Caledonia U18 – 2pm kick off
Edinburgh Knights U16 v Glasgow & West Whites U16 – 2pm kick off
Edinburgh U18 v Glasgow & West U18 – 4pm kick off
Borders & East Lothian Whites U16 v Caledonia Saltires U16 – 4pm kick off
The academy activity continues throughout July and August, with further festivals at Gala RFC and Dalziel RFC.
A Scotland U18 squad will also travel to Ireland for a development camp in early August, linking up with Italy, Wales and Ireland.
Head of Pathways John Fletcher said: “We’re really looking forward to getting our regional academy festival activity back underway for a new season. It represents a new challenge for many of our players as they move up the age grades.
“The players have been selected from their performances with their clubs and schools, and from being identified in our Player Development Hubs.
“It’s another great opportunity for us to see the blueprint curriculum in action, and for our young players to test themselves against the best players in Scotland.”
