Scotland Women v France Preview

8 May 2026

Scotland Women are at home for the final time this 2026 Guinness Women’s Six Nations, hosting France in their penultimate match of the tournament at Hive Stadium on Saturday (kick-off 4.15pm) – live on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.

What they said:

Scotland full-back Chloe Rollie said: “In these next two games, we’re looking to push on. We haven’t got what we wanted out of the three games, so it’s an opportunity to finish on a high, finish strong and improve our performances.

“We want to get those performances we know we can. It’s about putting in a performance we’re proud of and a foundation we can build on.

“When you come up against a team like France, who will take their opportunities if you give them them, we need to be really clear on how we’re going to defend, to get the ball back and gain possession, and that we do with the ball in possession in attack.

“It’s not about starting all over again – it’s about going over what we have in our toolbox and how we can use that to put France under pressure and put us in the best position to perform.

“To be back at the Hive is massive for us. We have spoken about it this week that it is a very comfortable place for us and usually perform very well there when we have the crowd backing us.

“We hear them pushing us on which makes us really want to play well. It’s going to be amazing to have all the fans behind us, so hopefully we get a big crowd there who can push us to the next level we’re looking for.”

The Teams:

There are seven changes to the Scotland XV against France.

There are maiden Scotland starts for Holland Bogan and Rachel Philipps, whilst Leah Bartlett, Elis Martin, Louise McMillan, Becky Boyd, and Rhona Lloyd also come in from the start against the French.

The Stats:

  • Scotland have won two of their last three Women’s Six Nations matches at Hive Stadium (L1), including their most recent (26-19 v Ireland in Round 5, 2025) – they have scored 3+ tries in six of their last eight Championship games at the Edinburgh venue.
  • Scotland have conceded the fewest penalties of any side in this year’s Women’s Six Nations (25), while France have conceded the most (35), with both sides having been awarded the exact same number of penalties (28 each).
  • Of the 90 players to have made 10+ carries in the 2026 Women’s Six Nations, Scotland’s Rhona Lloyd is the only one with a 100% gainline success rate and sh3 also boasts the Championship’s best rate of dominant carries (67%).
