Founded in 2008, the tournaments aim to showcase the world’s best young rugby talent as World Rugby continue their age-grade investment to increase rugby’s global competitiveness.

Africa will be the host continent of the long-awaited tournaments, with the World Rugby U20 Championship taking place in Cape Town and the Western Cape from 24 June-14 July and the World Rugby U20 Trophy in Nairobi, Kenya from 15-30 July.

Scotland will compete for the U20 Trophy after relegation from the Championship in 2019. The squad have been drawn in Pool A, in which they will play against Uruguay and two other yet-to-qualify nations. Countries drawn in Pool B include Spain, Samoa, Kenya and Hong Kong.
