Sarah Bonar raring to be back at Hive Stadium for Vodafone Scotland WXV Series

Scotland host Australia in the final home match of the Vodafone Scotland WXV Series, which is the first of a three-Test series against the Wallaroos, with a double-header down under to follow in October.

Bonar’s appearance from the bench against New Zealand a week ago marked a first appearance in the Thistle since the 2025 Rugby World Cup, and she is set to start against the Aussies in two days’ time.

And the second row can’t wait to be back out there playing in front of the Scotland fans one last time at home in the WXV series.

“It felt so, so good,” Bonar said. “Sometimes, it [returning] felt like it was off the cards, so to run out again with the girls was class.”

She added: “We’ve not played Australia at home in my career before so I’m really looking forward to it.

“We love playing at the Hive. The crowd feels like a 16th member of the team because they’re so close. In those moments of excellence or someone makes a break, we really feel it and hear the crowd.

“To get a last run out before we go over to Australia, we’re excited for it and can’t thank the fans enough. We hope they bring the same noise and stick with us again this weekend.”
