A Scotland rugby fan has been recognised for his amazing fund-raising.
Five-year-old Gregor Corse from Orkney, has been named as Good Morning Britain Young Fundraiser of the Year, at a glittering Pride of Britain awards ceremony in London.
You can see Gregor receive his award on STV from 8pm tomorrow night (Thursday 22 October).
“Wee Gregor” met big Gregor – Scotland coach, Gregor Townsend – in Kirkwall last month when Townsend joined him on one of his latest fund-raising walks from his home to his nursery school. Townsend was on Orkney to deliver a pro-coach master-class at Orkney Rugby Club.
Wee Gregor has a neurological condition which affects his balance and motor skills.
But earlier in the summer, he completed 30 loops of his garden at home every day for 30 days, all to raise funds for a local charity, Inclusive Orkney.
His willpower sparked Gregor Townsend’s attention, who sent a video message to wee Gregor, along with a signed Scotland shirt which was auctioned to boost the fundraising.
Then, last month, big Gregor joined wee Gregor on his latest fund-raising initiative “wanders tae school”, which took him from his home to Glaitness Nursery School, with two other Orkney charities, Clan Cancer Support and Somas Light, the beneficiaries.
In total, wee Gregor has raised some £80,000 for all the charities.
Scottish Rugby will welcome wee Gregor, his mum and grandparents as our guests at Scottish Gas Murrayfield for the Scotland v New Zealand Nations Championship game on Saturday 7 November.
Limited tickets remain across our VIP and upgraded experience packages for Scotland v New Zealand but are selling fast.
Buy or upgrade your tickets now.
Match tickets, upgrades and hospitality packages are available for Scotland’s later Nations Championship matches against Australia on Sunday 15 November and Japan on Saturday 21 November.
